Nova Cinema

Great cinema! Comfy seats. Movies are rather pricey for outside of central London (it's about £4 less than my main central London cinema) but as an independent, i think, I don't mind too much. The Nova membership could be better as 10% isn't a huge amount off to be honest. Staff are fantastic and friendly. Most screens are fine and no issues. However, screen 6 is really weird because the screen is all the way to the left (see photo), so if you're sat at the right then you have to sit at an angle to see it. I didn't realise this when I booked it, so I was at on the right and had to move because of the screen but also the lights for the stairs are up in the ceiling and meant that I was illuminated in the dark and would have ruined the experience, had I not been able to move. I've also noticed that the sound at Nova is rather low compared to other cinemas. I totally understand the there are screenings for those that need lower volume etc but pretty much all movies I've seen has had low audio than other cinemas I've been to. Also, the intro speech that the staff do doesn't really have an impact, the amount of people that talk and are in their phones at Nova is significantly higher than other places. Last film I went to someone dropped their phone 5 times, the film before someone talked through the film then randomly left half way through it! It's crazy that little spend that much on a movie only to talk through it.

Staff need to do more vigiliant checks. Saw Wonka at 2pm on 17/12/23. Noticed people putting their feet on seats in front. This was also the case at the Godzilla showing on the 15/12/23 when a few idiots sitting right at back of cinema were putting feet on seats in front. This type of behaviour needs stamping out as it makes a clean cinema unclean. Cinema is nice, bright and clean upon entry .Toilets are clean too. Also bizzare than on 17th a staff member (female wearing glasses with tint of blue hair if I recall correctly) was asking for tickets before the main entrance and then was asking me to buy tickets on the ticket computer outside cinema to go through to main cinema area.There is no point of staff at the actual counter if tickets are only bought online or on ticket computer.

Best cinema I've visited in Surrey so far, Especially after the refurbishment and new screens. Staff are friendly and present before each showing. Screen 1, has a great layout with seats stepped high enough with a good view of the large screen. Picture quality is first class, much much better than the Odeon in Guildford for example. Heads up screen 3 does have 2 dead pixels on the projector so I wouldn't sit at the front of the cinema. As they are a little more obvious on dark scenes.
